Wrexham Football Club Jersey Selling At Record Rates

Wrexham Football Club jerseys are selling out faster than at other times in the club’s history, and that says a lot, considering the club was founded in 1864. The team has a very long and storied history. Over the last few years, it has gained a worldwide following, and sales of the Wrexham Football Club jerseys have rocketed up at record-breaking speeds.

Like everything that has happened with the team lately, the increase in sales of the Wrexham Football Club jersey is seen as a direct result of new ownership. When, in November 2020, Hollywood heavyweights Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney announced they had purchased the team, excitement and interest grew locally and throughout the league.

In July 2021, the initial stock of Wrexham Football Club jerseys was sold out after only two days. By the end of the month, the new away Wrexham Football Club jerseys were revealed, and fans lined up around the block to purchase them. The new jerseys were the same green as McElhenney’s beloved Philadelphia Eagles. They included the words “Always Sunny In…” just below the collar, referencing his hit show, “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.”

The Wrexham Football Club jerseys for the 21/22 season also proudly displayed the team’s new sponsor, Tik Tok, across the front and, of course, the present Wrexham club badge, which was chosen through a competition in 1973. This competition for the new club badge coincided with the celebration of Wrexham’s one-hundredth anniversary of their first match. After receiving hundreds of entries, the club ultimately selected a design they felt best represented the spirit of the club, its fans, and the town.

The green chief on the shield, which symbolizes one of the colors on the Welsh flag, showcases the Prince of Wales’ emblems of ostrich feathers and the phrase “Ich Dien,” meaning “I serve,” and was previously used as the motto for his family’s coat of arms in the 14th century. Additionally, green represents forestry and the surrounding rural areas of Wrexham.

The creatures holding a football on either side are Welsh dragons, who also act as supporters in Wrexham’s current coat of arms. Interestingly enough, the banner displays 1864 to commemorate the year the club was formed. Also, to commemorate the 1934 Gresford Colliery Disaster victims, the all-red shirt features an embroidered 1934 on the nape.

According to reports, sales of the 22/23 Wrexham Football Club jerseys surpassed all expectations when it was reported in January of 2023 that more than 24,000 had been sold. Local fans attribute it to the increased exposure to the team because of its new owners, who were willing to spend money on better players and upgrading their home stadium.

The fact that its sponsor, TikTok, reaches millions of people daily doesn’t hurt sales either. Add to that the new sports docuseries “Welcome to Wrexham” streaming worldwide, and support for the team is undoubtedly at an all-time high.

The 2022/23 football season saw the Wrexham team staying at or near the top of the National League, the fifth and lowest tier for football clubs in the UK, all the way to a dramatic finish. Ultimately, the Wrexham team secured a first-place finish and gained promotion to League 2 of the English Football League for the next season to worldwide elation.

United Airlines is now the official sponsor of Wrexham AFC’s home shirt for the 2023/24 season. The new front-of-shirt sponsor is Macron, while VistaPrint has moved to the back of the new Wrexham Football Club jersey as the season’s back-of-shirt sponsor. The home jerseys remain the same solid red, but other changes have come with the official away game jerseys.

The Macron away shirt is primarily white but features a green stripe down the center, flanked on both sides with a smaller red stripe. The Wrexham crest is near the top left shoulder, and the logo for United Airlines is prominently placed across the upper middle of the front.

However, for many fans and to the delight of the team’s owners, the most exciting new arrival for the 2023/24 season is the third black Wrexham Football Club jersey and shorts that were not allowed while the team was in the bottom tier. All three kits include an embossed “WREXSAM” on the backside.

With all the attention the team has generated over the last two years and its continued success, the Wrexham Football Club jerseys and other commemorative items for the 2023/24 season are expected to break sales records again.
