Top 3 Things to Do in San Francisco

Top 3 Things to Do in San Francisco. Totes Newsworthy shares its favorite sites to visit while on a San Francisco vacation this fall.

When traveling to the City on the Bay, it can be a little overwhelming. The sheer size of San Francisco is one fact, but there is also so many locations and sites made famous in movies and on television. Totes Newsworthy knows savvy travelers like to plan their trips ahead of time.

That’s why it has put together this list of top 3 things to do in San Francisco.

1. Pier 39:

No visit to San Francisco would be complete without a stop at Pier 39. Visitors will experience amazing views, shops and restaurants all in this one place. They will be immersed in the city culture while watching sea lions, eating chowder bread bowls and drinking California wines. Totes Newsworthy shares that Pier 39 is the most visited destination in San Francisco. That may be because it offers two levels of dining, shopping, entertainment and attractions, all surrounded by picture-perfect views of the city and the San Francisco Bay. San Francisco’s historic waterfront is also perfect for getting postcard-like views of the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges, Alcatraz, Angel Island and the famous city skyline.

2. Golden Gate Bridge:

One of the seven wonders of the modern world, the Golden Gate Bridge, was actually once called “the bridge that couldn’t be built.” It opened in 1937, but it took four years to build while workers and engineers struggled against relentless winds, fog, rocks and treacherous tides. Totes Newsworthy shares that the Golden Gate Bridge spans 1.7 miles from San Francisco to the Marin headlands. Visitors who want to walk or bike across the bridge may use its sidewalks during the day.

3. California Academy of Sciences:

After taking in all of the tourist sites, visitors should also visit the California Academy of Sciences to learn more about the state’s – and the world’s – natural resources. The academy is home to an aquarium, planetarium, natural history museum, and world-class research and education programs. Visitors can watch splashing penguins in African Hall or walk through a four-story living rainforest. There is also an awe-inspiring coral reef ecosystem in which visitors can dive, and tourists here can also travel through space and time in the immersive planetarium show.
