Every year dozens of awards shows hit television screens and honor celebrities for their achievements in several different fields. The biggest award show for television each year is of course the Emmy’s, which honors the top performances and creations that appear on the air each year.
A few weeks ago, nominations were announced for this year’s awards ceremony, including nominations for fan and critic favorite shows like Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, and Orange Is the New Black. While television fans eagerly await the broadcast to see the stars and to find out which of their favorites will be walking away with the gold, today they were treated with a bit of fresh news on what they can expect to see at the show this year.
13 of the presenters for this year’s Emmy Awards have been announced. Presenters for the show this month will include several past winners and actors who this year have been nominated for Emmy Awards. True Detective stars Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey will both be presenting at this year’s awards, as well Julia Roberts and Jim Parsons who have both been nominated for the HBO drama The Normal Heart. Other presenters will include Halle Berry, Bryan Cranston, Amy Poehler, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Kerry Washington.
The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards broadcast will take place on Monday, August 25 at 8 Eastern and will be hosted by Seth Meyers. Tune in to NBC to see your favorite stars grace the red carpet and compete for the top prizes. We will certainly be watching because the Emmys are Totes Newsworthy.
