The importance of a good breakfast

The way you start the day has a huge impact on your health and performance during the day. For this reason, breakfast is really the most important meal of the day. It is the fuel for an exceptional day.

Breakfast is very important, since you’re giving your body the nutrients it requires after long hours of fasting overnight. At least you have not eaten for 8 hours or more. Your body is hungry for nutrients!

Tips for an ideal breakfast:

– Hydrate:
After a whole night your body needs to be hydrated. Therefore, start each breakfast with two glasses of water. Do not wait until after lunch because you’ll have less desire to drink. You need to drink water, even if you do not feel thirsty. Water with lemon is also highly recommended as this is a drink that prepares the stomach for a better digestion and balances the pH, freshens breath and helps quit coffee. Also, drink water first thing in the morning will help you meet your minimum quota of 8 glasses of water at least every day.

– Eat vegetables in your breakfast:
Start your day with a good dose of vitamins and fiber.

– Consume less sugar:
There is one thing you should not include in your breakfast, which is sugar, especially refined white sugar. A lot of people eat high sugar cereal in the morning or a coffee or tea with lots of sugar in it. By doing this you are simply filling your body with empty calories that do little for your health.

– Consume a full serving of protein:
A good breakfast should include a portion of quality protein. This has a number of benefits: protein helps you feel full so you’ll be less willing to eat unhealthy snacks between meals. In addition, protein is essential for the formation of muscle tissue, which is largely responsible for your metabolism, so anyone who wants to lose weight will likely benefit from consuming more protein at breakfast. Some sources of protein for breakfast are: walnuts, peanuts, almonds (in all its forms, can be whole or milk), green leafy vegetables like spinach, broccoli, also quinoa and oats. You can prepare a good mix of cereals, along with natural juices or smoothies by combining these foods with your fruits and vegetables.

– How to eat breakfast:
Do not rush to eat breakfast or eat standing, while watching TV or doing something else. Take the time to really enjoy your breakfast.
