Winter in PV is beautiful, the temperature is wonderful, and the activities are endless in Puerto Vallarta with KIVC.
Krystal International Vacation Club has resorts in three great Mexican locations, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, and Ixtapa. With so many activities available on the grounds of each resort, vacationers don’t need to venture into town to find things to do. But for those who are itching to explore, these attractions in the Puerto Vallarta area are just perfect.
From early December to the end of March visitors can go whale watching while in Puerto Vallarta. Banderas Bay is one of the deepest and largest bays in the world, and located in the Pacific coast of Mexico, makes for a perfect place for the Humpback whale. During the last months of the year is when they breed and their calves are visible. Daily, bilingual boat tours are given by well-studied staff. Some of the boats are equipped with hydrophones to help those on board hear the sounds of the whales while they communicate. Dolphins are often spotted as well as the occasional giant mantas or sea turtles. Don’t worry, the whales and all other species are protected by the government and the tour companies, and there are several conservation and research efforts to protect them as well.
The Tianguis Cultural, a producer only Farmers Market, is one of the most compelling weekend attractions in Puerto Vallarta. There is fun for the whole family, with activities, great products for purchase, the producers available to talk to, and the chance to support the local economy. A fantastic selection of locally grown farm fresh products, handmade crafts, art, jewelry, community education and live music are available. Everything is made, baked, grown, and sold by people living within 50 kilometers of town. The market is open every Saturday through April 30th from 9:30am to 2pm at the Parque Lazaro Cardenas, Colonia Emiliano Zapata.
Golf at the Nicklaus or Weiskopf courses this winter. The Nicklaus course features a breathtaking course of grassy hillsides, forests of dense palm, and some huge ficas trees. Add in some natural creeks and arroyos and golfers have the perfect setting for a gorgeous round. This 18-hole course of just over 7,000 yards has five tees available, including a family-friendly set. The designer of the Weiskopf course, has brilliantly combined elevation and natural features into a challenging yet playable experience. With just under 7,000 yards this course has a great first tee and a “drive-able” 18th green. Play from the gold, blue, white, red, or family-friendly tees on this course as well.
Both of these courses have rental clubs available, as well as lessons, a practice range, and overnight club storage. Mexican pesos and major credit and debit cards are accepted and there are some deal for twilight rounds or repeat round in the same day. Both courses are governed by USGA rules and caddies are available upon request.
