Learn how Homes for Our Troops is helping those who’ve served our country; Fielding Charities takes a closer look.
Los Angeles, May 18th, 2016 – Fielding Charities is proud to feature Homes for Our Troops, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization that provides mortgage-free housing for those who’ve served in Iraq or Afghanistan after 9/11. Helping service members who’ve suffered severe injuries is what this charity does with ease.
Since its inception in 2004, Homes for Our Troops has built more than 200 homes across the country for veterans who’ve survived devastating injuries. This organization specializes in constructing homes that are specifically adapted for each injured veteran’s needs, adds Fielding Charities. All homes are completely free of charge to the veterans and allow them to be able to recover in a safe environment, where they can focus on healing and regaining control over their lives.
Fielding Charities notes that this charity has specific parameters for qualifying any veteran interested in receiving one of these homes. Criteria includes being injured in combat post 9/11, actively retired or seeking medical retirement from the military, having eligibility letter from the VA Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) Grant program and being prepared to make the home a primary residence, while maintaining the responsibilities of homeownership.
Anyone interested in getting involved with Homes for Our Troops has several options available to them. Donations are always welcome, but money isn’t the only thing needed. Cars, land, building materials, goods, services, stocks and securities can all be given to make a difference for these veterans. Volunteering, fundraising and shopping through this nonprofit’s website all also ways of contributing.
Getting to know more about where an organization’s money goes is a good way to learn about the credibility of a charity, explains Fielding Charities. Some 90 cents of each dollar that comes into Homes for Our Troops goes directly to aid veterans. See how well this organization handles incoming funds by checking out their financial reports online.
