Here’s Some Ways to Ace an Interview!
So you found the perfect job opportunity. It pays well, is close to where you live, everything about it says this is perfect. You have an interview in three days, so what’s the best way to show that you want the position, and stand out? Here at Totes Newsworthy, we are all about seeing people get hired for job’s they will be great at; so here are a few steps to ensure that you’ll ace whatever interview you go in for.
- Look Your Best
Here’s a pretty simple first tip to ace an interview. Guys, if you are trying to get a job where you have to look professional every day, you need to show that in your interview. You never get a second chance to make a first impression, and you want to make a great first impression. So get a haircut, shave; put yourself in your employer’s shoes, and see if you would hire the person you see in the mirror.
- Dress Nicely
The second tip to ace an interview, this one somewhat falls in the previous category, but it’s so important that I figured it needed its’ own space. Now, you don’t necessarily need a suit (although it is a great look that an employer will notice, and shows how serious you are about the position), but do not go to an interview in jeans and a t-shirt. Wear a nice polo shirt and khaki pants, or some slacks with a dress shirt. Dress for success, and you’ll be noticed.
- Come Up With Questions
One of my favorite tips to ace an interview is to come up with at least three questions for the end of your interview. You’ll always be asked if you have any questions, and it’s always good to have a few stored away, and it shows how seriously you’re taking this interview and potential job. Do research on the company, read reviews, go in knowing more than the previous person the interviewee talked to.
- Why Are You a Great Fit?
To ace an interview, sell yourself. Be a bit selfish; you know that you are the best person for the job, now show it! Come up with three reasons that make you the best person they have interviewed, and sprinkle them throughout the interview. If you’re applying to work in a bank, for example, explain your love of the financial system, and that you love interacting with others.
- Be Yourself
The last tip to ace an interview is to simply be yourself. Don’t just give the answer is that the interviewer wants to hear, show why the job means so much to you. Relax, be calm and precise, and you will do great.
So those are just a few tips to have a great interview. Now obviously, this does not guarantee you a job, but it will at least show how seriously you’re taking the interview, and why you are perfect for the position. So go get ready, the working world awaits!
