When Dr. Yusuf Mosuro presented at the Conroe Medical Center he gave informative talks on two subjects of distinct interest to himself and to the physicians who were in attendance. The first talk that Dr. Yusuf Mosuro gave to the group of physicians was a presentation entitled The Role of Naloxone in the Opioid Abuse Epidermic. The presentation reviewed the use of pain killers in the United States and revealed a variety of facts and figures detailing how and why these painkillers are prescribed to treat pain, and how they are abused in the U.S. He also detailed how many deaths have been linked to prescription drug overdoses in past years. Mosuro then discussed Naloxone and reviewed how it is being used to offset the effects of opioid use and treat those with prescription drug addictions as well as those who overdose.
The second talk that Dr. Yusuf Mosuro gave at the Conroe Medical Center was entitled Controlled Substances Prescribing: The Legal Implications. This talk set out to help others understand the use of prescription drugs as well as the risks of prescription drug abuse. It reviewed the Controlled Substances Act, revealed the distinct characteristics of controlled substances, and discussed when and why doctors should prescribe controlled substances. In the presentation Mosuro also shared many of the legal requirements and laws surrounding controlled substances. As with the previous presentation, the subject of this talk was very important to Mosuro as a pain management specialist who understands the importance of understanding both the benefits and dangers of controlled substances.
