Book Your Adventure Invites Its Members to Rhode Island Retreat
Book Your Adventure is hosting its 3rd Annual Summer Retreat in Rhode Island. Members who have been asking when an East Coast trip would be planned are finally getting their wish and they will not be disappointed.
When it comes to visiting a state with beautiful scenery, Rhode Island definitely checks off that box. From the fresh seafood, to the lush green nature trails, to the ambiance of the sea, Book Your Adventure plans to treat its members to an awe-inspiring vacation.
Members will start out in Pawtucket in the Blackstone Valley region of the state with a tour guide explaining how the area was once filled with mills and the American Revolutionary War got its start here. Pawtucket hosts many arts festivals throughout the year for residents and visitors alike to attend. For Book Your Adventure members, who are artistically inclined, feel free to roll your sleeves up and participate in painting with oil or watercolors, as many events are interactive.
Book Your Adventure members traveling with their families will find many fun-filled activities to participate in.
Many farms offer sleigh rides and horseback riding. Lincoln Woods State Park features boating, swimming, jogging and walking trails, camping, picnicking and other activities. Members that prefer bicycling can bring their bikes or rent them at several locations such as Blackstone Valley Bikeway, a 10-mile roadway only for bikes. It spans the Blackstone River and Canal and connects to the border of Massachusetts. This is filled with miles of beautiful Rhode Island greenery.
Vineyards and orchards are in abundance in this state.
Whether you are into wine tasting or wish to pick fresh fruit to take back home, there are many options to choose from. Diamond Hill Vineyards is over 200 years old with 33 acres of grapes and produces its own pinot noir as well as varieties of fruit wine. Book Your Adventure Travel Club members who are wine enthusiasts can enjoy their own picnic lunch with free wine tasting right on the premises, then buy some to take home.
Another family favorite is the Chocolate Mill Overlook located by the Blackstone River.
This park has a large enclosed poster detailing the history of chocolate manufacturing and how Colonial America had a role in creating chocolate. This landmark was one of the first chocolate mills powered by water. Although the original mill was destroyed, the dam built for it still exists and runs into the river where people are free to ride a canoe or kayak.
Now for Book Your Adventure members who like to be more physically active, there is Paddling on the Blackstone where you can take your canoe or kayak to show off your paddling skills on 44 miles of scenic Blackstone River views. There is information available about which routes are more appropriate for beginners and more experienced paddlers, since some currents are more difficult to navigate.
Rhode Island offers many beautiful scenes to absorb like a living postcard and a potpourri of activities to participate in. Book Your Adventure suggests this trip is geared more towards members with families and hopes that it will be fun time for all.
