Book Your Adventure Invites Members to Visit Martha’s Vineyard
Book Your Adventure is introducing its members to the iconic island of Martha’s Vineyard this summer.
The Vineyard is a legendary East Coast hot spot and favorite of many tourists and celebrities alike for decades. It continues to be on the bucket list of most people as a “must see” destination.
Martha’s Vineyard is located in the Cape Cod Region of Massachusetts alongside Nantucket. Members of Book Your Adventure will enjoy a 45-minute ferry ride into the island. This mode of transportation can be taken from New Bedford, MA, New York City, or Quonset Point, RI. Memorial Day through Columbus Day weekend. As you get closer to this destination you will see the awe-inspiring Quinnah Cliffs coming into view. Bring your cameras for there are so many picturesque views to capture for memories sake. From beautiful beaches to sailboats galore to the rolling hills, there is so much to see and do in this part of the country.
There are multiple tour companies that operate on Martha’s Vineyard.
Book Your Adventure has already contacted one of them for a full day narration of the history and points of interest on the island. This tour will highlight the iconic lighthouses that dot the Vineyard landscape, discuss the named beaches, give a birds-eye view of the quaint gingerbread houses, and features a stop to buy homemade ice cream from one of the many ice cream parlors dotted around the island.
Members who are fitness buffs have many options to choose from. Some of you may choose to rent bicycles and ride around the island. Helmets and bike locks are also available for safe riding and to stop along the way. If you decide to take a break to peruse a local shop’s wares or take pictures of scenery, knowing you can lock the bike up until you return can put you at ease. Others may prefer to rent scooters or mopeds to travel at faster speeds.
Hospitality is top notch on the island of Martha’s Vineyard. Whether traveling with your family or as a couple, there are many Bread and Breakfast inns that make for a cozy and inviting stay.
Many of these venues are built in Victorian architecture reminiscent of a movie. They are often filled up by the summer so it is wise that Book Your Adventure members make their reservations soon if this type of lodging is preferred.
Dining on “The Island” is pleasing to the palate for all who visit the Vineyard and most likely leave travel club members pleased. Since there are local farms that supply many of the restaurants, many of the meals taste especially fresh. Seafood like oysters and lobsters are plentiful and tastier compared to what most people get from their hometown restaurants. Clam chowder is a common soup in this part of the country due to it emanating from freshly caught clams. Farmer’s Markets and stands line the landscape, with local farmers and residents selling their wares each day. It is very likely members of the Book Your Adventure will be tempted to buy some local jams or jellies to take back home.
Whether cycling around the island or relaxing at the numerous beaches, this summer will be quite a treat as Book Your Adventure members are introduced to all that the island of Martha’s Vineyard has to offer.
